How to use these reports:

  • This system is currently based around Simple Moving Averages (SMAs) that are based around the principals of Fibonacci numbers. These are used alongside a Slow Stochastic Oscillator (SSO) to create buy and sell signals, which are given numbers based upon their strengths.
  • Over time, I adjust the stochastic coefficients and the weightings of the moving averages to create more reliable results during my back testing (for my use), but to also make the system more reliable generally.
  • Attached in the linked folder will be a file called "buysignallers.txt" and "sell signallers.txt", which can both be used to show the position of a stock against the others that are analysed. This is where you will find the total signal strengths for stocks.
  • It is worth noting that not all stocks and shares may load or process due to where the program gets its data from and some stocks with share prices below 0.10p will currently not analyse properly.
  • These reports are all made up of a list of signals and comments and the data for these are taken daily. E.G. Today's signals use yesterday's closing stock prices - given in pence, not pounds!
  • The "signals" show the fibonacci SMAs that crossover and or any slow stochastic notifications.
  • The "comments" show the value of the said SMA with the value of the previous day shown in brackets.

e.g.

# Signals
Sell - 24.802226076843513707865168540 - 34 crossed 144

# Comments
SMA 3 - 25.50 (25.50)
SMA 5 - 25.50 (25.50)

Bacanora Minerals - Technical Analysis

I am not FCA authorised and therefore this shouldn't be viewed as investment advice, etc. While I don't currently own shares in Bacanora Minerals I feel that I should disclose that one of my brothers does.

  • The movement through the resistance at 60p was a strong bullish sign for Bacanora Minerals (BCN), which provided it with the momentum to intra-daily high at 73.75p hit today (19/02/2015).
  • An Uncrossing Trade (UT) above the 70p resistance line that extends from September would be a very positive sign of more movement to the upside in the near term, but I wouldn't be disheartened if this doesn't happen as large moves to the upside cause an influx of day traders selling who tend to drag down UTs at the end of the day.
  • Resistance levels after this would be at around the 77.50p and 86.50p levels, meaning that there's the potential for strong upside gains of over 10% to be made on possible trades.
  • My quantitative trading system (a system still in development) has given BCN the following signals:
Buy - 20.054270433349359971014492754 - 5 day SMA crossed 144 day SMA
Buy - 21.931169773725184202898550725 - 5 day SMA crossed 233 day SMA
Buy - 14.979424784496361507246376812 - 8 day SMA crossed 34 day SMA
Buy - 14.132563237562250376811594203 - 13 day SMA crossed 21 day SMA
Buy - 18.535461788286888057971014493 - 13 day SMA crossed 89 day SMA
Buy - 18.838072724771063420289855073 - 21 day SMA crossed 89 day SMA

Sell - 1.3329876346230554447546868768 - Stochastic suggests over-bought 0.9541284403669724770642201835

  • Overall, this is very positive for the medium to short term, but the stochastic signals are giving a warning against jumping in the deep end too quickly.

Enjoy,

Bacanora Minerals - Hatch Come Onboard

I must confess that when the RNS was released telling us that Hatch are to be the engineering consultants for the Sonora Lithium Project and the Magdalena Borate Project I didn't jump with the same excitement as some regular bulletin board posters did.

Nevertheless, when I followed the "DYOR" adage and looked into them, I too began to quake with excitement!

With more than $35 billion in projects currently under management and having operated in 150 countries, Hatch have invaluable experience in both borate and lithium plant design.

Most importantly however, is that the very high speed at which Hatch operates means that the there's the potential for the Lithium plant to be up and running by late 2015 or early 2016.

Now, I refuse to sign up to ShareProphets for a number of reasons, so this would be potential extra reading for some who want to go into more detail, but this is a quote from the article that I've lifted from elsewhere:

"Bacanora, steered by chief executive officer and experienced mining figure Shane Shirclff, has had pilot plants working for a year, according to Orr-Ewing, and, provided an expected £70 million financing can be fixed, hopes to have Sonora, where water is abundant, in production by the end of 2015 at an annual rate of 35,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate, with costs less than a third of recent prices of around $6,000 a tonne.
...
Orr-Ewing says the company will still have cash after the two feasibility studies, but envisages augmenting liquidity with forward sales deal. He adds ‘we may do a placing, in the $3 to $5 million (£3.7 million) range, but not until mid-2015."

http://www.shareprophets.advfn.com/views/8542/bacanora-signs-up-key-consultancy

Further to this, here are some tidbits of a conversation someone had with Kiran Morzaria on Twitter, which effectively follow the same train of thought:

Shane Stephens ‏@Sstephens95 Oct 22

@RareEMplc galaxy res from pfs to construction in under 12 months, shows potential given required urgency

Rare Earth Minerals ‏@RareEMplc 21h21 hours ago

@Sstephens95 Agreed - "Hatch moved this project from a concept design to a completed facility in less than three years".

Shane Stephens @Sstephens95

@RareEMplc hatch have the required experience aswell - hopefully see some big moves in the coming months. Thanks.

Rare Earth Minerals ‏@RareEMplc 20h20 hours ago

@Sstephens95 Yes they do - I know the team well met them at Lithium Conference this year thought they would be ideal for BCN.

To conclude, it looks like the appointment of Hatch as engineering consultants could well have been the beginning of an accelerated program to deliver production earlier than the 2017 that was expected. Even if this is true, we can't expect the 50,000 tonnes per year that could be processed from a full scale plant, but based on the movements of other companies like Western Lithium Corporation, starting small and working up seems to have become popular within lithium mining.

All the best,

The Masked AIM Trader

UPDATE!

It transpires that there was a wrongly changed error between the information that I received for an ADVFN bulletin board and the the information actually available on SharePhrophets. The production year is still expected to be 2017.

My apologies,

The Masked AIM Trader

Bacanora Minerals - Effects of Higher Lithium Prices

Good evening,

I'm going to re-run some old numbers and use the world's oldest and crudest method for showing resource deposit potential. This is not a look at OPEXs, but if you want an analysis of this, then I suggest you look through Okenia's posts over on the LSE bulletin board for Bacanora Minerals.

Some points will undoubtedly be repeated across older posts of mine, but don't be put off by this.

The data that I will be using will have come from these websites:

http://www.bacanoraminerals.com

http://www.mining.com/web/batteries-leave-lithium-hydroxide-facing-tight-supply/

Numerical Analysis:

All of these figures are obviously estimates and should not be used as trading or investment advice.

- The RNS entitled "Expansion Plans for Sonora Lithium Project" told us that the plant and mine would be capable of processing up to 50,000 tonnes of LCE per year (an upgrade from the 40,000 we previously knew of).

- Taking the price of lithium as it currently stands (~$6,500/tonne) you would expect a project value over the lifetime of the mine of $13,000,000,000 in revenue terms and $10,000,000,000 in profit terms at an average production cost of $1,500 per tonne.

50,000 tonnes * $6,500

=$325,000,000 (Production revenue per year).

50,000 tonnes * $1,500

=$75,000,000 (Production cost per year).

50,000 tonnes * $6,500 - $1500

= $250,000,000 (Production profit per year)

$325,000,000 * 40 year mine life

=$13,000,000,000 (Revenue over the mine's 40 year life span).

$250,000,000 * 40

= $10,000,000,000 (Profit over the 40 year mine lifetime).

Using the revised figure from mining.com of ~$8,000/tonne for 2015 and beyond at the same extraction cost (although this may not be realistic now the company has confirmed that they will be providing for the lithium hydroxide and lithium carbonate market) gives the following figures:

50,000 tonnes * $8,000

=$400,000,000 (Production revenue per year).

50,000 tonnes * $1,500

=$75,000,000 (Production cost per year).

50,000 tonnes * $8,000 - $1500

= $325,000,000 (Production profit per year)

$400,000,000 * 40 year mine life

=$16,000,000,000 (Revenue over the mine's 40 year life span).

$325,000,000 * 40 year mine life

= $13,000,000,000 (Profit over the 40 year mine lifetime).

We must remember that these numbers are only estimates and I implore people to look through the RNS releases and do their own numerical analysis on this company. I still find it hard to believe that such "telephone-esque" numbers are appearing in my calculations, but the more I look at this company the more I come to the conclusion that it's staggeringly undervalued in the market.

Bacanora Minerals: Key Points From The Sonora Update

Good evening,

I'm normally a more frequent writer, but I've been modelling for an art course for the past week and it's limited my time significantly. Consequently, quickly discuss Bacanora Minerals' latest update

Bacanora Minerals' Update (Expansion Plans for Sonora Lithium Project):

Pretty much, I'm just extracting the most important words and phrases from the 01/10/2014 RNS, so that we can summarise it a bit quicker and cut to the chase with any further speculation:

- "it will commence a significant drilling and exploration program in early November"

- "upgrade resource estimated from the indicated to measured resource category"

- "the Company will begin trenching on the Buenavista area of the Megalit concession to provide bulk clay samples for metallurgical testing"

- "the Company has also begun testing for the recovery of lithium hydroxide"

- "The Company is actively working with a number of potential off-take customers for its potential lithium compound production."

In terms of analysis, there's not actually that much to say, apart from "watch this space". This RNS implies that news-flow regarding drilling results will only be a month or two around the corner and news regarding possible off-take partners could be released sooner than this.

On another note, I'm also impressed by the lock-in agreements that Bacanora Minerals are putting on their warrant exercisers, which is an illustration of savvy directors - see the 10/10/2014 RNS.

I'm awaiting more funds to purchase more here and I'll probably be looking to increase my exposure to proven resource mineral companies in these more unsettled markets.

Cheers,

The Masked AIM Trader
